10k march against attacks on church

Ranchi: Members of the Christian community, joined by leaders from the Sikh, Muslims and Hindu communities, descended on the streets of Ranchi on Sunday to protest against the vandalism of a church and the continuous persecution of Christians in neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
Carrying placards that read “Stop dividing people in the name of religion”, “ Stop tampering with the Constitution”, “Christian Unity Zindabad”, “Stop filing false cases against Christian community”, more than 10,000 men, women, young boys and girls marched through the streets of Ranchi in a Virodh Maharally organised by Jharkhand Christian Youth Association.
The march culminated in a mass meeting in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Morabadi Grounds later in the day.
“Irrespective of whether we are Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims or Sarna, we are all children of one God. We pray to God in our own way, yet we are all children of that one God and hence, we are all brothers and sisters. We need to live in peace and in brotherhood with one another. Unfortunately, vested interests are out to disturb peace and amity, they are trampling on our Constitution. We have gathered today so that we may oppose all such attempts and to send out a strong message to all that together, we shall thwart all attempts to wedge divisions amongst us,” said Felix Toppo, archbishop of Ranchi, in his address to the gathering.
